The photo on the left was taken by Dennis Ralston around 1959 in Mr. Thorson's geometry classroom. A year or two later I used it to paint a self-portrait of myself, which became known as The Green Francine. The photo directly below was taken at my Mom's house in El Segundo before a Dylan concert that Ken Kauppi and I attended, eccentrically dressed in our spiffiest outfits, probably around 1965.

![]() This atmospheric portrait was taken in my little apartment on Sherman Canal in Venice, probably also by Dennis Ralston. |
![]() Portrait of just me before the Dylan concert, one of my paintings is hanging on the wall. |
Nancy Walstrom, Ed Franks, me, Peter Hodson and Barbie Dion at Lake Cachuma, above Santa Barbara. Probably taken around 1961 or '62 by Ken Kauppi, who likely drove us up there too. |
Dennis Ralston, Nancy Walstom, Ed Franks, Peter Hodson, Bruce Parradee, me, Russell Snyder, evidently having tea and cookies at Ken's house. I would guess it was also taken around 1962. |
At my Mom's house sitting around the dinner table, perhaps in 1958 or so. Down front is my brother Hank, seated are my grandfather Paul Cassell, me, Uncle Billy, my Mom, and her mother, Grandma Cassel. |
Taken around 1959 or so, in Springfield, Illinois, on the porch at Rosie and Bren's home. They were my God-parents, and Bren's name was actually John Cotton, my Mom's uncle. |
