The combination of people into one group where everyone looks good is accomplished using the new Photomerge Group feature, which is easily accessed using the Guided tab. In this case it was especially simple, because all that I needed to replace was the one face. You can merge parts of up to 10 photos.
Below is an example of the new Photomerge Faces feature, also accessible in the Guided tab. Exactly what it is good for, in a practical sense, I'm not at all sure. You match up two different faces, then blend selected parts of one into the other. Here I used myself and my 11 year old niece. I thought I would see what I would look like if I had normal sized eyes, instead of my squinched up ones that pretty much disappear when I smile. While I was at it I unaged my mouth a little, and used another process to change my hair color, to make myself a real red head instead of the mousy auburn I currently have. Finally, we have an example of a custom set of corrections, including the Red Eye fix. Oddly the Automatic Red Eye fix available in the Quick Fixes tab did not do a thing on the most egregious case of red eye I could find. However the dedicated red eye tool available in the regular tool palette works OK, although I still prefer my own method. And I threw in another hair color variation: what I will look like if I actually live long enough to go grey. |
