Joshua Tree

A few years ago Southern California actually got a nice amount of rain in the winter, which meant the desert plants had grown nicely, and were expected to put on a goodly show in the Spring, so I made plans to travel out to Joshua Tree with friends, one of whom lives in the desert, and take pictures.

Miscellaneous Photos

Samples of photos I took that day, including flowers blooming cheerily, cacti being spiky, and dead trees/shrubs looking desertly.

Indentify That Plant

Once I got home it was time to identify the various plants I had photographed.

More Identities

While I was fairly successful identifying the plants in the photos, there were a couple of mysteries.

Framed

I taught a Photoshop Workshop a technique for making frames around photos, and couldn't resist framing a few of the desert photos too.

North Section of Park in 2010

2010 was another good winter rain year, and this time four of us went to the North end of the park.
